Partnering Nationwide to Support Youth Boating, Education, and Adventure
The National Power Squadron Committee for Sea Scouts works alongside the United States Power Squadrons / America’s Boating Club (USPS/ABC) to support Sea Scout Ships across the country. USPS, founded in 1914, has a long history of advancing safe boating and maritime education, and our committee builds on that tradition by empowering Sea Scout units with training, resources, and community connections that we have been doing for over 100 years making us one of the oldest maritime relationships with Scouting of America
As a national committee, we work with USPS squadrons of all sizes and communities to strengthen youth maritime programs. Across the country, thousands of volunteers from diverse backgrounds share their passion for boating by mentoring Sea Scouts, supporting local Ships, and teaching seamanship, navigation, and on-the-water safety.
Sea Scouts do not need to own a boat to participate—our goal is to ensure every youth has access to quality boating education and meaningful opportunities for leadership and adventure.
Through this partnership, we promote:
Safe boating education delivered by certified USPS instructors
Civic service and volunteer opportunities that build character and community
Fraternal and maritime activities that bring Scouts, families, and squadrons together
Shared learning and self-education to strengthen seamanship skills nationwide
